Goal: Student-athletes will identify alternative career choices
Objective: Student-athletes will complete a career interest inventory and identify their personality type and Holland code for future research into career alternatives.

1. Recap of Workshop
  • NCAA History: How the NCAA formulated and why you have the right to play.
  • NCAA Rules and Regs: It's not all fun and games. The rules you must follow to succeed on and off the field as a collegiate athlete.
  • Steroids: The effects they can have on your body and mind, not just now, but in the future
  • Health and Sports: An exploration of concussion research in modern sport and the effects injuries/the athletic culture can have on you as you progress through life

  • Section One: Daydreams

4. Small Group Discussion
  • Students will have opportunity to share why they feel their Holland code/personality type does/does not fit them.

  • While professional sports are not likely for most, careers in athletics/sports are still out there that you might be interested in.
