Goal: The student athletes will understand the short-term and long-term effects of steroids. Objective: The students will be able to watch a video on the effects of steroids. Also, the students will be able to list the most common effects that steroids have in men and women.

2. What are steroids and what do they do?
Anabolic steroids are synthetic derivatives of the male hormone testosterone (Hartgens & Kuipers 2004).
Steroids increase protein within cells which results in the build up of muscular tissue
3. How are steroids used?

Injection
Oral Pill
4.Students will be asked to get into groups of four and discuss the positive and negative effects of steroids. Students from each group will share some answers.
